The Most Natural Partnership in Vegas: The Hard Rock and Virgin America

It’s the most holy of alliances. Virgin America, the rock ‘n’ roll airline, has teamed up with Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel for a special promotion. From now until December 30, you can get a 30-percent-off rate at Hard Rock Hotel when you book three nights or more. While VA’s promo offer suggests the special is good “exclusively” for Elevate – its frequent-flier program – members, the Hard Rock’s site is also running a “Summer Special” on it Web site that seems to offer exactly the same deal.

Normal rates for next Friday night (July 31), for example, in a king-sized room are $259. With the discount (either via VA or Summer Specials) that means you pay only $181 and change. Here’s an unexpected perk, too: while Saturday night, August 1, is totally sold out if you try to book it through the regular “reservations” tab on the HRH’s Web site, if you book by clicking on the “Summer Specials” button, you can actually score a room. It’s $499, mind you, but it’s there.
While we’re scratching our head as to how VA can claim "exclusivity" for the offer, it’s not a bad deal. Book a Room, Get a Bottle at Planet Hollywood

Here’s something we’ve not seen done quite so brazenly before: when you book any room online at Planet Hollywood, you get a free bottle of wine, champagne, whiskey, rum, gin, vodka or tequila off PH’s special "Drinks Are on Us" menu.

Oh – and that’s one complimentary bottle per night, not per stay.

There are some conditions to receiving your free hooch, naturally. You must be 21, you must consume the contents of all bottles while in the confines of your hotel room and you must not furnish said contents to minors. Fair enough.

Here’s the sort of funny part, though. You’re essentially encouraged to tie one on, each and every night of your stay, especially if you’re a hard-liquor person. How do we figure, you ask? Well, you must redeem your free bottle daily, or else forfeit it.

Not sure you and your roommate/sweetie can make it through a whole bottle of tequila each day? Why, just pace yourself! Tequila sunrises in the morning, shots before and after lunch, rocks margaritas (we’re pretty sure there are no blenders for hire at PH) before dinner, more shots before hitting Privé and then, come morning, one final swig to chase away the demons from the night before. Presto! You’re ready for your second, well-lubed day in Vegas.
