Droplet Architecture - Hi-Tech Resort Design Especially for Humid Coastlines

Spanish architect Orlando de Urrutia has produced a concept building design that promises to make water out of air and sunlight while housing coastal resort clientele. Dubbed ‘The Water Building,’ the design resembles a huge water drop and will employ state-of-the-art Teex Micron technology to generate pure, drinkable water from the atmosphere using solar electric power.

The futuristic project combines an aesthetic design with energy-gathering photovoltaic glass, vents and equipment to work the magical feat of water-extraction and purification. It is intended to model eco-sustainability and raise environmental awareness by enveloping its guests in the water drop form.

Designed for humid regions, the Water Building Resort not only purifies salty sea and rainwater but also controls the water quality with the help of a water treatment facility on the bottom floor. Based on the theme of water, its upper floor harbors restaurants, gyms, exhibition halls, hotel and conference rooms, and spa services. (thedesignblog.org)
