Living the Rock 'N' Roll Life at The Andaz West Hollywood

Where: 8401 W Sunset Blvd. [map], West Hollywood, CA, United States, 90069

The West Hollywood drag of LA's Sunset Strip is synonymous with a frenzied rock 'n' roll lifestyle. This is the stretch of bright lights that The Viper Room and Roxy Theater call home, and where on any given night, well-heeled groupie types (or "Band Aids," as the Always Famous euphemism goes) can be seen wandering in droves toward the latest insider after party. We'll reserve judgment about the outfit choices we've observed.

The recently reinvented Andaz West Hollywood has long been a part of this local, life-on-the-edge culture, playing host to guests who have an appreciation of the Strip's late night hustle and hard cocktails. For this year's Sunset Strip Music Festival, which will be held from September 10-12, The Andaz has been named the host hotel and is offering discounted rates of up to 20% accommodations from Thursday, September 10th through Sunday, September 13th to mark the high gloss occasion.

If you're planning on hitting up the event, it's probably a smarter—not to mention safer—bet to stay near the wild revelry of the SSMF. If you've ever dared a bar crawl along the Strip, you'll know that things naturally tend to get a little out of hand. Plus, when the inevitably deafening sounds of Korn have you screaming "Gimmie Shelter," then ducking into the Andaz could be a temporary retreat. Our suggestion: the rooftop Sundeck. But if you're looking to keep the buzz going through the next morning, you can order a complimentary Bloody Mary or Mimosa with Sunday Brunch. Old habits die hard, it seems. Bed and Breakfast: A Viable Option to the Hotel and Motel

Via: Rolf Joho

Do you ever feel like you know just enough about bed and breakfast? Let's see if we can fill in some of the gaps with the latest info from bed and breakfast experts.

Though it is quite normal to spend your time in a different city or country in the comfort of a hotel or in some instances, in a motel, there is a lot to say in favor of staying in a bed and breakfast. A bed and breakfast is really an establishment that usually lets out some few rooms to people that wish to savor a more homely atmosphere and who need accommodations that is also not too costly. As can be implied by the name, bed and breakfast means getting to rent out a room and also be served with at least breakfast if not other meals.

British By Origin
Now that we've covered those aspects of bed and breakfast, let's turn to some of the other factors that need to be considered.

The term 'bed and breakfast' is actually British by origin and it was in that part of the world that this kind of accommodation was first made popular before being adopted by countries in different parts of the world. This popularity has led to allowing people that visit different countries get a chance to choose to stay at bed and breakfast and so sample firsthand the different cultures and cuisines and in a simple manner get more out of their stays.

There are no doubts the great amount of charm and quaintness that you will get to experience if you opt for a bed and breakfast stay and it is of course a very good alternative to living in the more commercially oriented accommodation options that are the norm in most cities and towns around the world. No doubt, a bed and breakfast cannot provide the same level of luxury that is normally available at the fancier hotels and even in some cases in motels. But, then this lack of luxury is more than compensated when you take into account the kind of hospitality and culture that you will get to experience at the bed and breakfast.

In the US, bed and breakfast establishments have begun to flourish and most of the ones that you get to stay in are really historical buildings that have been converted to provide authentic American experience in different states in the country. Some of the better known bed and breakfast establishments such as the Newport Blues Inn are truly worth staying in as they provide modernity, history and other excellent amenities as well. With fourteen different guest rooms, each renovated beautifully, this bed and breakfast establishment stands out from the run of mill similar accommodations and you also get to choose from rooms with private bathrooms as well as those that have queen or king-sized beds and even some that are deluxe or plain standard accommodations.

Sometimes it's tough to sort out all the details related to this subject, but I'm positive you'll have no trouble making sense of the information presented above.

Tips For Finding the Best Luxury Hotels

What defines quality when we talk about hotels? The prices surely distinguish a luxury hotel as they're usually quite expensive. But how can we make sure we're getting a good deal? Following I'm presenting a few aspects that seem to me crucial when we define a hotel as being a luxury one.

First and foremost you must be satisfied with the staff. If the staff is not welcoming enough and doesn't make you feel satisfied from the first moment I think you'd better try another hotel. The staff is the soul of the hotel. If they are smiling, opening the doors for you and asking about your wellbeing, then you're likely to feel welcome. If not, then you're likely to try another hotel.
Another extremely important aspect about a hotel, an aspect that separates luxury hotels from lower quality ones, is cleanliness. You're paying for a spotless room. Don't be satisfied with anything less. Even if the rooms are not designed according to the latest trends, they have to be nice and perfectly clean. Pay special attention to the beds and the bathroom; they should be spotless.

In my opinion you should look for special features that could make your staying at that hotel as pleasing as possible. Are bathroom floors heated? Do you get TV's embedded in the right place so you can enjoy watching news while you take a bath or shave? Is there a Jacuzzi? Etc.

For those people who do not have problem in paying extra and enjoying the luxury of quality hotels then these tips could really help you make the most of your next tour. After a hectic year of working hard in your 9 to five job you deserve to spend some time outside and away from your normal day to day routine just to keep your sanity.

Luxury travel tips could help you in planning of that perfect vacation that you have been dreaming off. However, if you closely observe you will find that not always you will be asked to pay a handsome amount to have a little fun. But if you go for discounted hotel deals or do some more online research then I am sure you could find a better option for a luxurious trip. What more is that you would not be spending like crazy for that trip.

What is also very important and significant is choosing the right destination for your next trip. It all depends on the mood and budget. Once you have that planned then next thing to make that trip worth remembering is to pick the right hotel.

If you're going to pay the price for a room in a luxury hotel then it better be a luxury one. It's best to search for online communities that share their experience and opinions about luxury hotels. This way you can make informed decisions and you won't have to constantly search for hotels that offer quality services and luxury rooms. Via: Dave Mathews

Spas: Luxury, Indulgence and Life

The term spa originally was associated with places that offered water treatment. Today, spas of various kinds are available out there, offering you a full fledged body massage according to ancient Ayurvedic traditions of India to a pedicure or manicure session at the town spa. From treatments to indulgence, spas have a prominent spot in all major tourist destinations. Spa holidays or spa vacations are actively marketed by travel operators and you can find good spa holidays with very little searching.

Today, spa is a general term and it can mean a health resort, a beauty care salon, etc. You can also find pedicure or manicure processes at a spa. One thing that connects all kinds of spa is the luxury and class. If the spa is for treating various skin or physical conditions or if it is for just a few minutes of beauty treatment, a pedicure session, manicure session, head massage, neck massage, shoulder massage or foot massage, spas offer varying levels of indulgence, which holiday seekers can't miss.

The attraction of spas is that, they are all stress busters. You will find the stress of the daily life and the toil of your profession are diluted and dissolved in a matter of a few minutes of treatment at the spa. Not all spas are built alike. However, the goal of them is the same –to give you some moments of luxury and comfort.

The oldest of all spas will be the mineral spas - the places that have mineral springs, like the springs that give out water that contains iron or other minerals needed by the body. Such spas were developed several centuries ago. People used to travel great distances on foot and on horseback to such spas, for their heeling powers. Today too, Ayurvedic spas in India, the spas in Thailand, Japan, China, etc attract people from all parts of the world, with promises of health and cure from various conditions.

Major hotels at tourist and business destinations also have spas. These spas can be of various kinds. Business meeting planners also look for hotels with spa facilities. They think they can give better value to their guests by offering a spa style treatment. Even a 30-minute session of hands-only shoulder and neck massage while sitting on a chair ensures some comfort and relaxation for the attendees. Similarly, luxury holiday seekers too find it beneficial booking a hotel with spa facilities.

So what will be your thoughts while choosing a spa? Is it just for half an hour of indulgence or will it be for some health benefits? It is also possible that you simply enjoy being pampered at a spa. Sometimes, as said before, you might want to give the guests of your business conference some good moments of relaxation? Before you book the spas, you can always do a research on the facilities available at the spas and how the previous visitors have benefited.

If it is time you planning your holiday or business trip, make sure you have access to spas, which not only gives you some minutes of pampering and stress-free bliss, but also some curative values.
